Submission Guidelines

Before You Submit

Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your work.

What We Accept

Mariner House Press welcomes original articles, features, research pieces, photo essays, interviews, opinion commentary, restoration documentation, and publication proposals aligned with our editorial focus on maritime heritage, sail training, leadership, restoration, and the future of tall ships.

Writing Quality

Submissions should be clearly written, well-organized, and edited prior to submission. Work that is confusing, incomplete, or poorly structured will not be considered. We do not expect perfection — we expect effort. Strong ideas with room for editorial development are welcome.

Originality

All submitted work must be original and unpublished. Mariner House Press does not accept work that has been previously published in another outlet without prior discussion. You must be the original author of any text, photographs, or materials submitted.

Permissions & Rights

Contributors are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to submit any text, images, photographs, or third-party materials included in their submission. Mariner House Press will not be responsible for copyright disputes arising from materials submitted without proper clearance.

Photo & Image Rights

If your submission includes photographs or images, you must confirm that you hold the rights to those images or have written permission from the rights holder to submit and publish them. Do not include images sourced from the internet without explicit licensing.

Review Process

All submissions are reviewed by the editorial team. Review timelines vary based on volume. We may contact you for clarification, revisions, permissions, or additional information. You will be notified if your submission is accepted, declined, or requires further development.

No Guarantee of Publication

Submission to Mariner House Press does not guarantee publication. The editorial team makes final decisions based on editorial fit, quality, timeliness, and available space. We appreciate every submission and respect the effort that goes into preparing one.
